Alexander Wortmann

The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.

Marc Aurelius

Alexander focuses on investment opportunities in the software and financial technology sectors and is based in Melbourne. His current partnerships include Allica Bank, Celonis, Cognite, Darwinbox, Devo, Klarna, Mollie, Qonto, Razorpay, RELEX Solutions, Revolut, and Zepz.

Alexander rejoined TCV in 2021 from RELEX Solutions, where he was Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy. Prior to joining TCV in 2016, he was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Technology, Media, and Telecoms group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, where he gained experience with M&A, equity, and debt transactions. Before moving into finance, he completed an engineering internship at Lockheed Martin in the production team of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter in Fort Worth, Texas.

Alexander was born and raised in the Netherlands and does not understand why the rest of the world has not discovered poffertjes, hagelslag, oliebollen or kaassouflees yet, so he tries to go back regularly to feast on Dutch cuisine. He enjoys basketball, guitar, and getting out on the water to surf or scuba dive whenever possible.

Alexander received his M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Flight Performance & Propulsion from the Delft University of Technology and graduated with a B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Delft University of Technology.
