Clarey focuses on investments in growth-stage consumer internet and mobile technology businesses. She supports TCV’s investments in Electronic Arts, Hinge Health, Hotmart, Minted, Modsy, Nubank (NYSE: NU), Rent the Runway (NASDAQ: RENT), SeatGeek, and Vice Media.

Before joining TCV, Clarey worked in the Technology Investment Banking group at J.P. Morgan in San Francisco, where she focused on M&A advisory and financings for tech companies across the internet, software, systems, and semiconductor verticals globally. She also brings banking and early-stage investing experience from previous positions in New York City, Beijing, and Jerusalem.

Born in China in its early days of digital disruption, Clarey saw firsthand how rapidly the internet can create new categories, expand markets, and fuel economic development. She enjoys innovation in everyday life and is excited about all things consumer internet.

Clarey spends her spare time reading, dancing, hiking, learning new languages, and trying different cuisines. And when it’s time for vacation, she’s likely to be getting on a plane to another exotic destination – her growing list of places she’s visited currently includes more than 40 countries.

Clarey received a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Yale University.
