Background

Gopi is a General Partner at TCV. He focuses on investments in software, payments and digital marketplaces. Gopi’s current partnerships include Aidoc, Darwinbox, Devo Technology, FarEye, and Spryker, where he serves on the board of directors, as well as Ankorstore, Dream Sports, and Redis.

Gopi was previously a partner at Providence Equity, where he worked on growth buyouts in software and payments covering business applications, vertical software and infrastructure software in the U.S. and Asia.  He also held investment banking and investing roles at J.P. Morgan and Columbia Capital and started his career as a software developer.

Interests

Gopi was born and raised in south India and migrated to the U.S. after graduating from college.  Since then, he has lived and worked in the U.S., Asia and Europe. Gopi is a Cricket enthusiast at heart and also enjoys watching football with his family (both the “real” version and the American version).

Education

Gopi holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar. He also holds an M.S. (Honors) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and a B.Tech from JNTU Hyderabad.
