Background
John is a General Partner who helped set up and launch TCV’s London office in 2012. He focuses on investments in software, internet, and fintech companies. He serves on the board of directors at Believe, Mambu, FlixMobility, The Pracuj Group, Trade Republic, RELEX Solutions, Revolut, Sportradar, and Zepz. His other current partnerships include Allica Bank, Brex, Celonis, Dream Sports, Klarna, Miro, Mollie, Qonto, Razorpay, Redis Labs, SuperVista AG, and TourRadar.
John was previously an investor at Summit Partners, where he focused on investments across software, internet, and financial technology. He started his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where he worked in both London and New York.
Interests
John left his native Ireland more than 20 years ago and has lived and worked in the U.S., Asia, and now Europe. Prior to joining the investment world, John competed on the men’s ATP Tennis Tour (where he is a current advisory board member) and was a member of the Irish Davis Cup team from 1996 to 2004. He is a sports fanatic and has competed in tennis, rugby, football, squash, and Gaelic football. These days, John mostly plays with his four kids and enjoys watching the occasional Manchester United match.
Education
John received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College.
