Michelle has been an entrepreneur, a corporate leader, and has worked with TCV over the years as a Venture Partner and Executive Advisor. In 1999, she started her first company, Site59, with friends in the heart of New York City and later sold it to Travelocity. She became CEO of Travelocity and traveled the world with the Roaming Gnome. Michelle has also served as Global Consumer Chief Marketing and Digital Officer for Citigroup and CEO of Gilt, where she truly learned the art of fashion. Michelle is currently Chief Marketing Officer of IBM, and she is passionate about how IBM’s Watson is transforming health, education, and business to make the world better. Michelle also serves on the board of directors of Nike.

As a long devoted friend to TCV, Michelle enjoys working with TCV companies and leaders as they build great businesses. She loves the unique passion TCV has for finding and investing long-term behind great teams.

Michelle has traveled and lived in more than 40 countries, salsa danced in Cuba, tailhooked on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as a White House Fellow, served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Labor, and was once temporarily stranded on a deserted island off Pisa with a group of girlfriends. And yet all that somehow pales to the adventures she and her husband have every day raising their two curious, funny and high energy children in Tribeca.

Michelle received her M.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Pembroke College, Oxford University, and graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
