Norman Chen

I love working with founders who are committed to a journey of growing and scaling big ideas into big businesses. Their leadership and passion inspire us at TCV to help them pursue their goals.

Norman focuses on later-stage investments in the fintech, vertical software, and tech-enabled services sectors. His current investments include Payoneer. He also supports TCV’s investments in Avalara, OneSource Virtual, and kgb, among others, and was actively involved in iPipeline.

Before TCV, Norman spent several years with Stifel Nicolaus Weisel’s Technology practice in San Francisco. While at Stifel, he primarily worked with fast-growing consumer internet and software companies on a variety of equity financings, strategic advisory assignments, and M&A transactions.

Norman enjoys playing sports (including eSports), traveling, rooting for Los Angeles sports teams (primarily the Lakers, Trojans, and Dodgers), and staying involved in his local church. Norman was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and spent his childhood in Los Angeles (thus the unapologetic Laker’s fan) before attending an international high school in Shanghai, China. After having worked in Shanghai, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, Norman has concluded that nothing beats living in the Bay Area.

Norman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Accounting.
