You're looking for three things, generally, in a person: Intelligence, energy, and integrity. And if they don't have the last one, don't even bother with the first two.
Sean joined TCV in 2007 and focuses on B2B opportunities. He is actively involved in TCV’s investments in Actifio, Cradlepoint, Datto, ExtraHop, Fuze, and GoDaddy. He also helped manage past investments including 2Wire (acquired by Pace), Continuous Computing (acquired by Radisys), Fiberlink (acquired by IBM), Motricity (NASDAQ: MOTR), and XRS (acquired by Omnitracs).
Prior to joining TCV, Sean worked at Deutsche Bank in the Technology M&A group.
Sean is a below-average bridge player, but that doesn’t affect his passion for the card game. He founded the UCLA Bridge Club, although he did a poor job at recruitment — upon graduation the membership roster included just his co-founder and himself. You can find him playing bridge on Sunday nights against his mother-in-law or catching a few hands during take-off and landing.
Growing up, Sean was obsessed with planes (and jets and rockets), which eventually led to a degree in Aerospace Engineering. And while he’d still love to get his pilot’s license, any and all free time is happily spent with his wife and two children.
Sean received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from UCLA.
