Background

Shalini joined TCV in 2023 and focuses on software, fintech and consumer internet companies. Prior to TCV, she was a partner at Generation Investment Management where she invested in growth-stage technology companies run by mission-driven management teams. Before investing, Shalini spent time at JPMorgan, Shearman & Sterling and as a research fellow with the Harvard Kennedy School and the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy. Her first job was as a barista at a local coffee shop.

Interests

Shalini is from Newfoundland and is now based in San Francisco, having spent the past decade in Europe. Growing up, Shalini captained the Canadian national debate team that won the Pan American and European Championships. Since retiring due to injury, Shalini enjoys reading, watching all sports and eating her husband’s cooking.

Education

Shalini received an M.Sc. in Finance from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from Harvard University where she was a Harvard Scholar and received a full scholarship.
