The best part of my job is working with entrepreneurs; I love their optimism and dynamism. The opportunity to play a small role in that entrepreneur’s potential success is incredibly rewarding and humbling.
Ted joined TCV in 2011 and has nearly two decades of financial and investment experience in the technology sector. He focuses on growth companies in enterprise IT, healthcare IT, and tech-enabled services, including both minority and majority investments. He currently serves on the board of directors of Cradlepoint, Datto, ExtraHop, and Fuze.
Prior to TCV, Ted was a Managing Director in Blackstone’s Private Equity Group, where he sourced, evaluated, and executed investments across the technology sector. Before joining Blackstone, Ted was a Vice President in the Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group.
Ted was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and is a fan of the Buckeyes. Sadly, he is a fan of the Browns too. He became interested in technology at an early age when he learned to program in BASIC on an IBM PC 5150. Later on, he used to hack CompuServe chatrooms with friends. Today he loves living in downtown Manhattan with his wife and two children. He is very interested in education reform and believes strongly in equal access to education for at-risk, disadvantaged, and special needs individuals. Ted serves on the Board of Overseers of the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.
Ted graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, where he received a B.S. in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School.
