Nari joined TCV in 2006. He spends time primarily in the business services and software space. Nari is currently on the Board of Directors of HireVue and OneSource Virtual, and has been involved in the firm’s investments in Avalara, K12, Merkle, OneSource Virtual, and Open English.

Prior to TCV, Nari spent several years as a Business Analyst in the San Francisco office of McKinsey and Company. While at McKinsey, Nari focused on strategy, operations, and private equity engagements in the semiconductor, storage, and software sectors.

Nari holds a B.S. in Management Science and Engineering and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

Prior to TCV, Muz was an investor with Vector Capital in San Francisco. Before Vector, Muz started his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, working with companies in the technology industry on strategic M&A transactions and financing activities. Muz also worked at T. Rowe Price, where he researched investment opportunities in the European technology sector.

Erik was the President and CEO of IAC Travel, managing all of IAC’s travel assets including Expedia, Hotels.com, and Hotwire. Erik joined IAC with its acquisition of Expedia, Inc., a former TCV portfolio company, where he served as President and CEO. Erik helped establish Expedia within Microsoft in 1995 where he led the creation of the brand as SVP of marketing, and later served as the president of Expedia North America, and ultimately was named President and CEO in 2003. Erik has previously served as Executive Chairman of Couchsurfing, a hospitality exchange and social networking website and TerraPass, a leading retailer of carbon offsets, consumer energy efficiency products, and green gifts. He has also served as the Chairman of Butterfield & Robinson, a world leader in top quality active travel. Erik serves on the boards of two TCV portfolio companies, Siteminder and Varsity Tutors, as well as the boards of Zillow, a former TCV portfolio company, GlassDoor, Peloton Cycle, Choose Energy, and Liftopia.

Joe focuses on investments in business and government services as well as healthcare technology. Prior to TCV, he spent several years with Harris Williams & Co.’s Technology, Media, and Telecom Group in Boston. Simon was a founder of Expedia. He joined the company in 1996 managing US Operations. Bob Burke has over 35 years of experience in the technology space with both private and public companies, and is focused on investment opportunities in the software and Internet sectors. Bob was most recently the CEO of Art Technology Group (ATG) and led the turn around and rejuvenation of the business. Under Bob’s leadership, ATG became the leading ecommerce software provider and was successfully sold to Oracle for over $1B.

Before ATG, Bob was CEO of Quidnunc, a privately held web consultancy with headquarters in London and additional offices in the United States. Before Quidnunc, Bob was President of ePresence Solutions (formerly Banyan Systems), where he led the repositioning of Banyan from its legacy Network Operating System business both organically and by acquisition.

Bob started his career as an operating systems specialist at Digital Equipment Corporation and held a wide variety of roles in hardware & software infrastructure, software applications, consulting and systems integration. His most recent position at Digital was general manager of its billion-dollar plus systems integration business with operations in over 45 countries. Bob has a B.S. in Physics from Eastern Michigan University.

Ted Coons joined TCV in 2011 and has nearly two decades of financial and investment experience in the technology sector. Prior to TCV, Ted was a Managing Director in Blackstone’s Private Equity Group where he sourced, evaluated and executed investments across the technology sector. Before joining Blackstone, Ted was a Vice President in the Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group where he was responsible for advising and financing the firm’s semiconductor and capital equipment clients.

Ted graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, where he received a BS in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School. CEO of Prodege, LLC, a Los Angeles-based Internet and media company and TCV portfolio company, Chuck brings more than 20 years of experience working with some of the technology world’s biggest brands to his position as CEO of Prodege, LLC, a Los Angeles-based Internet and media company and TCV portfolio company. Its flagship consumer business, Swagbucks, is an online rewards program that gives its members free gift cards and cash for doing what they are already doing online like shopping, searching the web, watching videos and sharing their opinions.

Chuck started his career in publishing with roles at various publications before joining his first digital venture as the first president of eCommerce for The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles. During his tenure, Chuck launched many merchant and travel businesses including Disneystore.com, Disneyvacations.com, and ESPNstore.com, in addition to supervising advertising sales, marketing, and online subscription initiatives. Chuck became President and CEO of Shopzilla, Inc., also known as BizRate.com and led the company to become the largest, most profitable and fastest-growing comparison shopping site online. Shopzilla was acquired by the E.W. Scripps Company in 2005. Landing at Fandango as its Chairman and CEO, he built the entertainment website to become the nation’s top moviegoer destination before it was acquired by Comcast Corporation. Fandango was a TCV portfolio company.

In addition to serving as a board member and advisor for several companies, Chuck is very invested in the business leaders of tomorrow: He serves as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Harvard Business School, where he meets with students representing over 50 startups annually, and is a trustee emeritus for the Brown University Corporation. Chuck was voted as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004 by Ernst & Young for Los Angeles and currently serves as a judge for the annual competition. He was also the elected International Chairman of the Young President's Organization for 2012-13. Chuck was voted into the LAVA (Los Angeles Venture Association) Hall of Fame in 2015.

Before joining TCV, John was an attorney at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett, LLP where he advised clients on a wide range of corporate and securities law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, minority co-investments and securities offerings.  At Simpson Thacher, John also advised alternative asset management firms in their fundraising activities and ongoing operation of their private investment funds.

With significant experience as an operator and investor, Jason has served as CEO of a number of public and private companies. Jason’s technology expertise spans software and IT services. On the software side, Jason has run storage management, software defined storage, virtualization, application management, and billing system companies. On the IT services side, Jason has run software-as-a-service (SaaS), managed services, and business process outsourcing companies serving small to large enterprise.
Currently, Jason leads a private investing firm, Stonegate Capital. Prior to that, Jason served as CEO of Atlantis Computing, a software defined storage company; Vertex, a leading IT and BPO services company to the utility industry; and Acronis, a leading backup & recovery software company. Jason has also served as CEO of ClearApp, an application management software company which he sold to Oracle in 2008; Meiosys, a virtualization software company which he sold to IBM in 2006; Ejasent, a virtualization software company which he sold to Veritas (now Symantec) in 2004; Apptix, an application hosting company which he took public in 2002; and TeleComputing, another publicly-listed application hosting software company.

Prior to joining TCV, John served as one of four CEOs in the Office of the Chairman at Lucent Technologies. John joined Lucent when Lucent acquired International Network Services (NASDAQ:INSS), where John served as President and CEO.  During his five years at INS, revenues profitably grew from $7 million to $440 million and its employee base increased from 56 to 2,300, establishing INS as the largest and fastest growing network consulting and software company in the world.  Prior to joining INS, John was Vice President and General Manager at Unisys Corporation.  John began his business career as a sales consultant for CF Software Corporation after serving as a Captain in the United States Army.

John holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a M.S. degree in Business Policy from Columbia University. John is on the Board of Directors of JustFab, OneSource Virtual, and ThinkFinance. Additionally, John is co-founder of the McDrew Charity Tennis Classic, a member of the Canary Foundation Leadership Council, an ardent supporter of Sentinels of Freedom and a board member of the National Venture Capital Association.

Katja also led the U.S. marketing efforts at 3i, a public international private equity and venture capital firm.

Katja earned an M.A. in International Relations, Political Science and Linguistics from Johannes-Gutenberg University in Germany and holds a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences for Economics, Berlin.

Mr. Gilstrap has had 25 years in tech and telecom with global roles which included operational, sales, financial, and strategy.  This includes both private and public equity experience with international companies based in France, Netherlands, UK and Sweden.  Capital fundraising includes initial public offerings, secondary and private equity in both US and Europe.

Previously Doug was Chief Strategy Officer for Ericsson based in Stockholm and NYC.  Prior to that he was head of Strategy for Cable and Wireless, CEO of Radianz, a secure low latency and hosting financial data extranet, and CFO and COO for Equant (ENT-NYSE-$10B+) a global data network company. Radianz and Equant are now current divisions of BT and Orange, respectively.   He started his career as a CPA and M&A consultant before moving to tech and telecoms.

    Jay Hoag has been a venture capitalist and technology investor for over 33 years.

    He and Rick Kimball co-founded TCV over 20 years ago in 1995. Since that time TCV has raised over $10 billion in capital and emerged a leading provider of growth capital to technology companies. In addition to Jay’s investment activity, he is also a member of TCV’s Executive Committee which has oversight for the general management of the Firm and its funds.

    Prior to TCV, Jay was a Managing Director at Chancellor Capital Management where he spent over 12 years as a technology focused venture capitalist and fund manager. He has been involved in a large number of technology investments including Actuate Software, Ariba Technologies, Altiris (sold to Symantec), BlueCoat Systems (formerly CacheFlow), C|Net, Encompass (sold to Yahoo!), EXE Technologies, Expedia, Fandango, Facebook, Groupon, Netflix, ONYX Software, RealNetworks, SpringStreet (sold toHomestore.com), TechTarget, Vacationspot.com (sold to Expedia), Viant, and Zillow among others.     Michelle Peluso joined TCV as a Venture Partner after having successfully sold Gilt to Hudson's Bay Company in February 2016. Peluso was CEO of Gilt from early 2013 until its sale and on the Board since 2009. While at Gilt, she oversaw the expansion of the business and the drive to profitability. Gilt offers its more than 9 million members special access to the most inspiring fashion merchandise and experiences every day at insider prices. Before joining Gilt, Peluso was at Citigroup from 2009 until early 2013, where she was the Global Consumer Chief Marketing and Internet Officer. In that role she was responsible for the digital experience for Citi’s 100 million consumers globally as well as for Citi’s global consumer marketing strategy and execution. She also brought CitiBike to New York City.

    Prior to Citigroup, Peluso was the CEO of Travelocity for six years. Peluso joined Travelocity following the company’s acquisition of Site59, a travel site she created and launched in 1999 in her role as CEO. Prior to leading Site59, Peluso served as a White House Fellow and Senior Advisor to Labor Secretary Alexis Herman and worked as a case leader for The Boston Consulting Group in New York and London.     Prior to joining TCV, Nathan was a director at Bain Capital, with roles on both the private equity investment team and the investor relations team. In the tech industry since 1994, he held positions at Accenture and a startup technology company prior to joining McKinsey.

At TCV, Mary Jo is responsible for human resource strategy and initiatives, including performance management, compensation, recruitment, employee and organizational development.

    Before joining TCV, Mary Jo was at The Blackstone Group where she was a Managing Director & Chief Administrative Officer in the Private Equity and Blackstone Advisory Partners groups in London. Prior to this role, Mary Jo was a Managing Director of Human Resources in New York and London where she served as a partner with the business groups on all human resource initiatives, functions, and issues, including international expansion.

    Prior to Blackstone, Mary Jo held senior Human Resources roles at Merrill Lynch, CIBC, and Alliance Capital.

    Mary Jo received a B.A. in Business from Loras College and a M.A. from Columbia University.

    Bryan joined TCV in 2014 and has over 19 years of experience in various areas of taxation. Prior to joining TCV, Bryan spent 10 years as the Director of Tax at Paul Capital managing all aspects of tax compliance as well as tax planning and structuring. Additionally, Bryan spent 7 years specializing in estate and gift, individual, closely held businesses, and partnership taxation at Deloitte.

    Bryan is a veteran of the US Air Force where he worked for the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center and the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Center serving during the First Gulf War. He graduated with a BS in Accounting with a minor in Economics from The Florida State University. He holds an active CPA license in California as well inactive licenses in Florida and Texas.

    Bob joined TCV in 2005 and has been in the investment industry since 2000. Prior to joining TCV, Bob was a Principal at General Atlantic Partners where he led the firm’s financial services practice. Prior to General Atlantic, Bob was a Managing Director at iFormation Group (a joint venture between General Atlantic, Goldman Sachs and Boston Consulting Group).

    Bob leads the Business Development Group and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Open English and TradingScreen.

    Bob received a B.A.H. in Political Science from Queen’s University and an M.B.A. from The University of Western Ontario.

    Kapil joined TCV in 2006 and has a decade of technology, finance, and investment experience.  Kapil spends time primarily in the software and business services space.  His current investments include FinancialForce.comIQMS Alarm.com (NASDAQ: ALRM), Rapid7 (NASDAQ: RPD), OSIsoft and Genesys. He also supports the firms investments in Webroot.  His prior investments included TOA Technologies (acquired by Oracle), Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK), ExactTarget (NYSE: ET, acquired by Salesforce.com), Seismic Microtechnology (acquired by IHS), Global360 (acquired by OpenText), Solarc (acquired by OpenLink) and Paciolan (acquired by Ticketmaster). Kapil is currently on the Board of IQMS

    Prior to TCV, Kapil was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York. While at Goldman Sachs, Kapil worked with companies in the Internet, software, IT services, enterprise hardware and communications sectors on a variety of strategic advisory assignments, financing and M&A transactions. Kapil also worked in the Office of the Chief Information Officer at Goldman Sachs on various strategic projects including private technology company investing. In that capacity he advised the firm’s clients on various technology and IT spending trends.

    Kapil received his Masters in Engineering Management and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Dartmouth College and was a William F. May Fellow.

    Josh focuses primarily on software investments. Prior to TCV, he spent several years at Shea & Company in their San Francisco and Boston offices. While at Shea & Company, Josh worked on a variety of M&A and private financing transactions in the enterprise software sector. Prior to that, he spent time at Summit Partners where he helped source and evaluate investments in the technology space.

    Josh received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Babson College.

    David currently serves on the boards of Act-On, AppNexus, Merkle, and Siteminder.com. David’s other active investments include Facebook (NASDAQ: FB), LinkedIn (NYSE: LNKD, a crossover investment), Rover.com, and OSIsoft. David received an AB in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

    David is an advisor to Pinterest and also serves on the Advisory Board of the East Palo Alto Charter School.
